Wow! 30 days have already gone by and I’m pleasantly surprised by the results, so far. In 30 days I’ve pushed myself harder than any other time I’ve decided to workout. In 30 days I’ve damn near gotten rid of my second chin and I started using a new belt hole (the last one. In 30 days I’ve had my willpower tested to no end and I’ve stayed strong. In the past it never mattered what kind of sweet was in the break room at work; if it was up for grabs it was in my mouth!
Everything looked good, but nothing in my mind said “You MUST eat some of that stuff” so, I didn’t. And now, everyday I put my lunch in the fridge it sits between the carrot cake and the chocolate cake – a constant reminder of what I can’t eat…GREAT!
Probably the biggest news…In 30 days I’ve dropped 13 pounds and currently weigh-in at 228!
I’m still in disbelief that I lasted 30 days in my P90Xperience. For phase 2, I’m even stepping it up another notch and I’m doing double workouts, three mornings a week – the morning routine is consisting of cardioX. I like CardioX, but I hate that basically 15 minutes of it is devoted to Yoga. If I want to do Yoga, I’ll put the Yoga DVD in my player! This is a great way to start the day though (cardioX - not Yoga). I get a really good sweat AND by the time my night workout rolls around I don’t even remember that I worked out! I expect to see the fat slip off me like butta now that I’m in Phase 2 doing doubles!
Did you hear that Pillsbury stock has been going down? I got a call yesterday from the doughboy himself. I couldn’t tell if he was crying or laughing – but then he got real serious and scolded me for not eating bread. I told him what was going on but he just couldn’t understand. I told him to poke himself in the belly button for me, I got a quick laugh and then I hung up the phone. Me and Pills (that’s what I call him) used be real tight. I’d eat his goods raw or baked. Sometimes I’d take the croissants, bake them, and toss them in powdered sugar (delicious!) – but in the past 30 days…nothing; I feel our friendship is very strained and on the verge of extinction.
I’m not saying I’ve been a perfect angel during my P90Xperience, but by staying 99% on track AND working out everday I’ve been able to sneak a few things. I eat Ice Breakers, but to me they are nothing. Abbey bought coconut covered marshmellows (WOW) and I pretty much ate one a day until they were gone. NICE FIND AT MEIJER, ABBEY! Regular mellows are really not all that great, I mean it’d be un-American to say that I don’t like them at all, but as a snack they are a no go. These coconut ones…AWESOME! I can’t even imagine what they would taste like on a s’more!
I have managed to have no chocolate and not a single pop. I’ve wanted a coke here or there, but having one isn’t worth it after I’ve gone so many days; more of an internal challenge than anything else. I’ve had a sip of Abbey’s coke zero – it wasn’t that great…I need a McDonald’s fountain coke if I’m going to have one! I had 2 slivers (and I mean slivers) of Servati birthday cake – holy shit it was amazing! After I had my first sliver I just wanted to bury my face in the cake and do my best motorboat – I resisted since I don’t know how well Abbey’s parents would have taken that
Sweets, I thought, were going to be my downfall but the protein bars and marshmellows have helped to curb any desire.
My uncle is starting his P90Xperience this week (exactly 30 days after I started). He hasn’t decided if he is going to follow the nutrition or not, but he’s leaning more towards just doing the workouts to see what they do for him. He’s a FedEx driver so he gets a decent amount of exercise throughout the day – his legs are like mine (solid rocks) – but for some reason as solid as they are they still get a really good workout. I can’t wait to see how well he does because when he puts his mind to something he goes full force!
I am behind a day on my workout schedule this week so my day 30 workout ended up being Plyometrics. After a recovery week (not doing any high impact/high intensity workouts) Plyo was TOUGH! I pushed through and was able to make it, but DAMN! I actually felt the aftermath this morning (not as bad as the first week) but it was there! I have various new workouts throughout the week so it will be like starting all over.
I have been surprised to find out how many people:
A. Know what P90X is…and
B. Are actually doing it (P90X that is)
That leads me to a poll question:
Check out this site I found – I know a lot of people that mess up a lot of these words and I think this is something that everyone will benefit from: http://theoatmeal.com/comics/misspelling - the other stuff they have on that site are pretty funny as well. The facebook one couldn’t be closer to the truth – I have an infant profile – GUILTY!
Did you hear that Jersey Shore will be back for a second season? It’s rumored to be set in SouthBeach. I don’t think it will be all that great – it won’t have that same “wow” factor that this season had, but the cast doesn’t care. They are going from a few hundred bucks an episode to $10,000/episode! That’s crazy – for being a bunch of slutty meat heads they make $10,000 and get a free vacation home…F THEM! I like Abbey’s idea for a reality show – Partying Parents – we’ll get drunk and party all the time with our kids! (the kids won’t get drunk, they’ll act more like the parents should act) – at the end of the show we’ll all cry and realize how wrong we were and the kids will be so happy because they can live their childhoods and not worry about how their parents will get home from the bars! Sounds like a hit to me!
That’s all I have for now.
Until next time…P90Xterra
